Cats have funny reactions to weird objects. Cucumbers, lobsters and, apparently, even geckos will cause them to freak and spaz out. These two kittens go “Old Hollywood” in their dramatic reaction to a living, breathing gecko. (Scroll down to see kittens get the fright of their life!)

Why Do Cats Stand on Their Hind Legs? The Power Pose
Cats will often stand on their hind legs to get a better view of something that interests them. After all curiosity is the hallmark of cats. They often pop back to see what’s on the counter or to help them judge whether a high landing place can be accurately achieved.
However, when threatened, kitties will also stand on their hind legs to look bigger and more menacing. This cat behavior is frequently accompanied by bushing out their tail fur and raising the hair on their backs. The bigger, the badder in cat body language. Here, these kitties go full Power Pose for the benefit of their intruder. The gecko? He seems fairly unconcerned by their antics.
In this video, our kittens have not yet mastered the art of bushing out their coats, but they have the meerkat pose down pat! Notice how the orange kitty frightens himself doubly by smacking his own front paws together. These funny kittens are just too cute!
Final Thoughts
These little kittens are just starting to explore the world without their mom having their backs. Their over-the-top reaction is as adorable as it gets. If you enjoyed this kitty reaction video, then you have to check out the First Snowfall Kitten video,
Feel free to let us know if your kitty strikes a power pose, like these little guys do. We love to hear about your kitties!
